About Theoria...
The members of Theoria met in the fall of 2005 when they all took a Music Theory class at Azusa Pacific University. They formed Theoria in the summer of 2008. The members of Theoria were influenced by many different styles of music (Ska, Metal, Classic Rock, Folk, Jazz, Opera and Classical music to name a few) and after several months and multiple songs, they were able to combine their musical backgrounds to form a unique sound for their music. Theoria combines the heavy guitars and double bass of hardcore with the smooth, intertwining vocal melodies and piano of modern pop rock to create a distinct fusion of sounds. Energetic performances as well as catchy, sing-along vocal lines have the crowd singing and dancing along by the end of the night.
The word "Theory" is derived from the greek word "Theoria" which is literally translated as "The vision of God" which is what the band strives to portray. They seek to show the love of the God they serve by loving their fans and by laughing and hanging out with them. Because of this, Theoria is much more than a typical rock band. They are, truly, striving to change the world through music and love, without which they would be nothing.
